💡How do Settings streamline payroll, scheduling, and leave logic?🤔
Configuring Settings in Zon Staff Management:
The Settings tab in Zon Staff Management allows you to tailor the app’s behavior to match your organization’s policies and operational preferences. Below is a detailed overview of each configurable setting and its impact on your staff management workflows.
1. Clock Event Settings:
Manage how the system handles clock-in, clock-out, and break events to ensure accurate time tracking and payroll calculations.
Deduct Break Time From Total Hours: When enabled, any break time taken by staff will be automatically subtracted from their total working hours, ensuring only productive time is counted.
Calculate Weekly/Monthly Salary Starts After First Clock-In Date: Activating this setting means that salary calculations for weekly or monthly periods will begin from the employee’s first clock-in date, allowing for more precise payroll management.
Don’t Allow Staff to Take a Break After Break End Time: This restricts staff from initiating a break after their scheduled break period has ended, supporting discipline and adherence to shift schedules.
Show Payroll Stats of Staff in POS to Managers: When this option is checked, managers gain access to payroll data such as total earnings, hours worked, commissions, bonuses, payment status, and other payroll-related metrics for each staff member in the Manager View.
2. Absence Calculation Settings:
Define how absences are calculated and how different types of leave impact payroll and attendance records.
Exclude Paid Leaves from Total Absences: Paid leaves (such as vacation or paid sick days) will not be counted as absences, helping to distinguish between authorized and unauthorized time off.
Include Unpaid Leaves in Total Absences: Unpaid leaves will be included in the total absence count, ensuring accurate attendance tracking and compliance with company policies.
Automatically Add Paid Leaves to Salary: When enabled, paid leave days are automatically included in salary calculations, ensuring employees are compensated for approved paid time off.
Automatically Deduct Unpaid Leaves from Salary: Unpaid leave days will be automatically deducted from salary calculations, preventing overpayment and maintaining payroll accuracy.
Automatically Deduct Absences from Salary: Any unapproved absences will be deducted from the employee’s salary, supporting strict attendance policies.
Default Daily Working Hours: Set the standard number of working hours expected per day. This value is used for payroll calculations, absence tracking, and scheduling.
3. Holiday Rules Settings:
Customize which days of the week are considered holidays, and how holidays affect attendance and payroll.
Select Holidays: Choose the days (e.g., Sunday) that your organization observes as holidays. Selected days will be excluded from absence calculations and payroll deductions.
Holidays will not be counted as Absences: When this option is enabled, any holiday will not be treated as an absence, ensuring fair and accurate attendance records.

Staff Portal Link and Customizable Tile Access in Zon Staff Management
Zon Staff Management provides a dedicated Staff Portal link, allowing staff members to securely access essential features from any device with internet access—no Shopify POS device required. This empowers your team to manage their schedules, tasks, and requests remotely and flexibly.
Portal Access
Portal Link: The administrator can copy the unique staff portal link and share it directly with staff members. Staff simply open the link in a web browser to access the portal.
Flexible Configuration: Access to features can be managed by checking or unchecking the boxes next to each tile. This allows administrators to instantly enable or disable specific tools for all staff using the portal, ensuring each staff member only sees the features intended for them.
